New Podcasts Added!

Added some more of my favorite podcasts to the list on the right! If you are looking for a fun show, any of these will do the trick!

Ask Me Another blends brainteasers and local pub trivia night with comedy and music into a rambunctious hour-long show. Play along as Host Ophira Eisenberg invites in-studio guests and listeners alike to stretch their noggins, tickle their funny bones, and enjoy witty banter and guitar riffs from house musician Jonathan Coulton. What you'll hear resembles the casual intimacy of game night at a friend's house: one where scores are forgotten in favor of hilarious gaffes.

International Waters is a pop culture comedy quiz show where land laws do not apply. Join host Jesse Thorn and competing teams of world-famous comedians from the US and UK in a hilarious and lively test of pop culture knowledge (and the ability to make up baloney when that knowledge fails). It's part panel show, part trivia quiz and all laughs. It's also a little embarrassed it wrote that last sentence.

Join accomplished composer/lyricist/teacher/learners Michael Philip Touch and Jonathan Elliot David Fondleman as they discuss the past, present & future of musical theatre. A podcast for everyone, but really just for musical theatre people!

Pop Culture Happy Hour is a lively chat about books, movies, music, television, comics and pretty much anything else that strikes a nerve, all in a weekly roundtable from NPR. Features "Monkey See" blogger Linda Holmes and an occasionally rowdy cast of characters.

RISK
Kevin Allison of the comedy group The State hosts this uncensored show where writers, performers and everyday folks tell true stories they never thought they'd dare to share. Selections from the popular RISK! live show and studio sessions. If you like The Moth or This American Life, take a walk on the wilder side with RISK!

Information you don't need from people you don't know.

Twice-monthly community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. Turn on your radio and hide. Welcome to Night Vale.

  1. thank you for bringing Musical Theatre Today to my attention. It is very entertaining and I am hoping for a karaoke disk of their hits.

I have already been listening to Ask Me Another, and I agree that it does not sound very NPRish.

And next I must try Welcome to Night Vale. I think I might have relatives that live there...
